Hatchling

Handmade by me. The pattern I’m following didn’t identify the creator.

Dragon Hatchlings are just coming out of the shell. Wings and head are out. The actual dragon cannot be removed from the shell. It’s all one piece. These little guys are stuffed with fish gravel in the base to keep them upright and softer stuffing materials in the top parts.

Approximate size: 3” high

Actual size might vary a bit depending on how heavy the yarn is.

  • Customizable parts:
    • Egg color – If I can find yarn the color you want, good to go.
    • Dragon color – Likewise.
    • Eye type – lockback eyes (blue, red, yellow, green, brown, or solid black), buttons or beads (any color I can find), or embroidered (any color floss I can find).

Shoulder Dragon – $50

Handmade by me; adapted from Simplicity pattern 8715.

These shoulder dragons are made from non-fraying metallic (sparkly) materials. There’s a neodymium magnet inside the belly and one on the outside so you can connect him to your shirt. They’re stuffed with soft materials, but the wings are wired.

Approximate size: ~20” from nose to tail.

  • Customizable parts:

This one will be trickier to customize. There’s a primary color (body, upper surface of the wings) and a contrast (belly, tail spike, and horns), but finding appropriate materials is a bit challenging, especially the further we are from Halloween. This one might be customized backwards where I let you know what colors I have on hand that will get the job done, and you tell me which you’d like.
